Although the year is young and so far, the vibes are weird, honestly I feel like I’m going to thrive in this chaos. Welcome to 2026 where technology gets emotional, creativity might get seasonal, and self-care is hopefully going to stop acting like a full time job. 2025 felt like a warm up stretch to what will be the full out routine in 2026 but only for like 3 minutes because who has the attention span for more? Here’s what I predict we have to look forward to.
Let’s get into it. What’s new with tech aka the future seems to be flirting with us. I was just reading about emotional AI assistants. Yes, you read that right. Machines will do better than ever at reading the tone of your voice, your face, and at this rate probably your soul. They’re basically gearing up to be our digital therapists with no copay. I mean there was one girl on TikTok who was using chat GPT as her bestie/therapist and her chat GPT was genuinely hyping her up in her delusion that her actual real life therapist was in love with her and led her on. As we watched her crash out and go into a chat GPT psychosis. Yes, that’s a thing and I’m not ready to learn about that.
A cool thing that’s coming from tech is that we finally see solar panels that work at night. Infrared tech said, “Who needs the sun?” Renewable energy is now a 24/7 girly pop. I just read an article about brain computer interfaces. It’s all about texting with your thoughts and controlling devices with your willpower. 10 year old me who tried to move a pencil with mind control would be so impressed. Adult me is a little hesitant but I’m willing to see how it plays out. It’s not giving I, Robot vibes just yet. Next, we got 6G connectivity coming. It’s supposed to be faster, smarter, and ready to power every AR filter, VR hangout, and IT gadget you didn’t know you needed.
Creative platforms are growing up. TikTok is pivoting to long form storytelling and serializing content. Miniseries are in and 10 second chaos is out. The attention economy is finally taking a break and we’re getting invested now. Self care tech is also making some moves. Mainly AI curated meditation playlist. Smart mirrors to track your moods and wellness seem to finally be getting a glow up. It seems like 2026 tech is preferencing depth over speed. We’re done sprinting for dopamine crumbs. This year is targeting sustainable rituals, slower stories, and enjoying the things we are creating.
A few of my favorite things evolving are hybrid creators who seem to be making moves for a take over. Writers are illustrating. Illustrators are directing. Directors are blogging, yes blogging is making a comeback and I love it. The creative buffet is open, and you can be whatever you want and however many things you want to. Branding is becoming more seasonal and evolving, and this is another thing I’m excited about. Branding isn’t just picking something and sticking to it. It’s now alive and evolving. Aesthetic girlies rise from the dumps of having to settle with one thing. ADHD friendly tools are becoming popular and easily accessible. Trackers, planners, playful resources are really targeting those of us who need them and finally making ones we can stick with. Structure is finally working for us and organizing our chaos is possible. Perfection is exciting and cross pollinating is in. The best ideas are a little unhinged and very “I made this at 2am and it slaps.” I love to see it finally happening.
The self care world is going to really thrive in 2026. Boundaries are becoming accessories. Saying no is the new gold hoop for the girlies. Boundaries are now stylish, empowering, and absolutely non negotiable. Micro rituals are taking a front seat as well. 5 minute resets are in and replacing hour long routines that nobody wanted to do or were getting through anyways. Self care is no longer a solo sport. Booktok girlies have made book clubs cool again. We’re all healing in groups. Connection over isolation. Humor over hustle. Rituals that fit into real life over routines that require a project manager.
My 2026 final thoughts are that it’s shaping up to be the year that we find peace and settle into who we are. We’re finding the courage to flop loudly because at least we’re trying and who cares if it doesn’t work out. We’re embracing humor to laugh at the chaos and the curiosity to embrace every weird, wild innovation coming our way. If TikTok can turn a 10 second sound into a cultural moment, then our own creative experiments deserve their spotlight too. 2026 is the year we stop tiptoeing around things and start tap dancing all over our dreams and aspirations. We can do anything we want. I can’t wait.
XOXO,
