The Delulu Diaries: I’m Not Avoiding Reality, I’m Curating It…. Cue The Drama

A PR Approved Explanation For Why I Simply Decline To Acknowledge Chaos

A Statement From My Internal PR Team

Before we begin, my internal PR department would like to issue an official clarification. There have been rumors circulating that I am avoiding reality. That I am ignoring my responsibilities. That I am pretending the chaos in my life is not currently juggling flaming bowling pins in the background. These allegations are false. These allegations are defamatory. These allegations do not align with the brand. I am not avoiding reality. I am curating it.

Curating is a refined skill. Curating is a lifestyle. Curating is what happens when you take the overwhelming mess of your daily existence and decide that only the parts that spark joy, aesthetic pleasure, or mild delusion are allowed to enter your awareness. Now that the record is clear, let us proceed. Cue the drama.

The Art of Curated Reality

Reality is loud. Reality is needy. Reality is constantly trying to get my attention like a toddler holding a sticky lollipop but I am a woman of taste. I cannot simply let every chaotic detail into my mental museum. There is a process. There is a velvet rope. There is a clipboard with a list of approved plot points. If a problem wants my attention, it must submit a formal request. It must be relevant. It must be on theme. It must match the vibe of the day.

For example, if I am in my soft romantic era, I cannot be expected to deal with anything involving numbers, deadlines, or consequences. That is not the aesthetic. That is not the storyline. That is not the energy my inner PR team is willing to approve. My inner PR team works overtime. They are exhausted. They are constantly spinning my questionable decisions into empowering narratives.

When I forget to respond to a message for three weeks, they call it intentional digital detoxing. When I procrastinate until the deadline is breathing directly on my neck, they label it creative marination. When I pretend I did not see the chaos unfolding right in front of me, they describe it as selective focus It is not avoidance. It is strategy.

The Curated Reality Lifestyle

If I acknowledged every chaotic detail in real time, I would collapse like a folding chair at a family reunion. I would be horizontal. I would be a cautionary tale whispered about in group chats. Instead, I curate. I choose softness. I choose delusion. I choose to believe everything is fine until I am emotionally prepared to accept that it is not. This is not irresponsible. This is self preservation.

The Curated Reality Manifesto

So here is my official statement for anyone who thinks I am avoiding things. I am not running from reality. I am simply deciding which parts of it deserve a seat at the table. I am choosing peace over panic. I am choosing vibes over urgency. I am choosing to protect my nervous system like it is a rare collectible.

If the chaos needs me, it can wait in the lobby. If the problem is important, it can schedule an appointment. If the universe wants my attention, it can send a follow up email. Until then, I will be here, living in my carefully curated version of reality, sipping something aesthetically pleasing, thriving in my delusion, and approving only the plot points that support my character development.

XOXO,

Savi Monroe
